“Nothing to count until the casino money starts to roll in, or the bar tabs get totaled,” he joked. “How about you? No Mahjong tournament to organize, or last minute Bingo games?”
Balling up her little hand, Cassie punched his arm. Her hands were small, but she knew how to hit.
“Ouch. What’s that for?”
“Making light of my job. If I didn’t do my job so well, you wouldn’t have a job.”
“I always make fun. Why’s today different?”
She didn’t say anything. Frowning, she turned her head. Blonde hair framed her pretty, heart shaped face, but a pout marred her beauty. Beau touched her chin.
“Tell me.”
Cassie huffed a sigh, shaking her head. “Family.”
“Ohhh, on the cruise. Who this time?”
“Gran.”
“Your grandmother? Which side?”
“Dad’s. The crazy one.”
“Aw, Tilly’s not crazy. A little eccentric….”
“She gets anymore eccentric, they will cart her away to the funny farm.”
