“Did you feel like someone was watching us when we were at dinner?” Nadeya asked.
Jasper said nothing, not wanting to admit that he had felt something—off. “Unfamiliar environment, crowded streets….” He shrugged, doing his best to be casual and play it down.
“You don’t believe that anymore than I do. Someone was watching.”
“Probably because you’re so beautiful.”
“I’m sure,” she snapped, rolling her eyes.
“And I’m jacked.” He shrugged, shaking his head. “Someone was looking at us thinking, What is that gorgeous woman doing with that hot guy? You know. Happens all the time.”
“Jasper….” her tone was dangerous.
“Come on, Nay. We can’t look for trouble. Enough finds us!”
